Everyone loved Sonny. It wasn’t just children who loved him. He was not some “Noble Savage”. It was part of his character. Even when he spent time in prison. He was loved and respected by guards and prisoners alike. “Don’t believe the hype”. And for those who still ” believe the hype”. I will be shutting your pessimistic and cynical mouths soon.

Sonny kept company with Kings and Queens. And since men of the cloth helped to guide him in his youth, when he was in prison. He always made sure that, men of the cloth were an integral part of his adult life, while out of prison.. Some people think that they know Sonny, “well now you know”.

Thug vs Philanthropist: After watching the SHOWTIME special, “PARIAH: THE LIVES AND DEATHS OF SONNY LISTON”. You probably think that this photo is from Las Vegas Police officer Larry Gandy’s drug bust of Sonny Liston. No, nothing as exciting as that. Sonny is just doing what he always did. And that was to give food and clothing, to the poor and the needy. And yes, he gave to poor white folk. Love for others has no color. Sonny was well known for being extremely generous toward others.
